The world-level international contest Quiksilver Snowjam 2009 ended in the Spindleruv Mlyn Ski Park today. This event, rated with three stars by TTR Series, was the finale of the freestyle section of O2 Snowboard Tour 2008/2009 and distributed the total prize money of US$10,000 among the best riders.

Wise Takes 2nd in La Plagne HP

LA PLAGNE, France (March 19) - David Wise (Reno, NV) drew the curtains on the skier halfpipe World Cup season Thursday, taking second for his first career World Cup podium during the last event in La Plagne.

"Today I landed everything just when I needed to and landed everything just right, so I am stoked," Wise said.

Kevin Rolland of France won the men's halfpipe and Nils Lauper of Switzerland was second.

Kearney Takes Moguls Title

LA PLAGNE, France (March 18) - The U.S. Freestyle Ski Team's Hannah Kearney (Norwich VT) finished ninth Wednesday to solidify her spot as the 2009 World Cup moguls champion. Emiko Torito (Denver, CO) and Michael Morse (Duxbury, MA) each finished sixth to lead the U.S. Team.

"I haven't wanted anything as much as I have wanted this in a long time. It just felt great," Kearney said. "Overall it was a glorious moment - one of the best moments of my skiing career so far."

Countdown to the World Quarter Pipe Championships

Time is ticking down as there's less than a week until the World Quarters begins at Timber Ridge in Londonderry, VT on Monday, March 23rd.  Dump trucks are making their final snow drop offs from surrounding parking lots for the quarter, wood is being gathered for the burning, and real North East shred-necks are making sure they rest up during the weekend for the Monday that lies ahead.

WEST DOVER, Vermont - Carinthia at Mount Snow will see some of the region's top freestyle skiers flying high in its terrain parks and superpipe March 20 - 22, when it hosts the Mount Snow Freeski Open.
